Registration of mail order pharmacies starts
Situation in Austria
As of June 25, 2015, remote sales of over-the-counter pharmaceutical specialties approved in Austria will be made possible. Interested domestic, public pharmacies can register for this with immediate effect.

- Requirements
In order to be authorized to engage in mail order sales, domestic public pharmacies must fulfill additional requirements in accordance with § 59a of the Austrian Medicines Act. These are verified by the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care. Any public pharmacy wishing to offer this service must notify the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care by means of registration before commencing operations.

Registration Mail Order Pharmacies
After successful registration, the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care includes the pharmacy in a list of approved mail-order pharmacies and thus confirms that all pharmacies listed therein fulfill the legal requirements for dispensing medicinal specialties through distance selling.
