Green Love

The product called "Green Love" is marketed as a purely herbal dietary supplement especially for men. Due to the claim ("positive influence on existing erectiledysfunction", "helps with problems of erectile dysfunction", "to improve erectile dysfunctionand premature ejaculation", "relieves frequent urination, premature ejaculation and erectiledysfunction") on the homepage of the manufacturer/distributor or in advertisements of various Austrian print media, the product was classified by the BASG as a drug by presentation.

The analysis of a sample withdrawn from the market by the Austrian Official Medicines Control Laboratory (OMCL) showed that 'Green LOVE' contains the undeclared substances hydroxythiohomosildenafil and hydroxyhomosildenafil. These are relatively new derivatives of the drug substance sildenafil, which have not yet been sufficiently tested, and therefore no clinical data are available for these two substances with regard to their effects and side effects. It is therefore to be assumed that there is a health risk that cannot be assessed and is therefore increased. Consequently, the producer/distributor's claim that 'Green Love' is a purely herbal product is not true.
