According to the European Medical Agency (EMA) EudraCT Version 8 will be released on Thursday 10 March 2011. Due to migration from Version 7 to Version 8 EudraCT systems will be unavailable from 17:00 (GMT +0.00) on Thursday 3 March 2011 until 09:00 on Thursday 10 March 2011.

Xml-formats of Version 8 are incompatible to Version 7. Therefore conversion of xml-files from Version 7 to Version 8 is required. A conversion tool will be supplied by EMA online on the EudraCT homepage (https://eudract.emea.europa.eu/).

Due to this change in format only xml-files Version 8 can be transferred to EudraCT by the BASG as of March 10 2011. For the time being xml-files submitted in Version 7 will be accepted and subsequently converted by the BASG. The updated xml-file Version 8 will be sent to the Applicant with the notification of completeness.

Due to the required modifications of the national database the processing of submissions might temporarily encounter delays, particularly concerning those with xml-files in Version 8.
