The Federal Office for Public Health has been informed by the Italian authority that, in addition to the regions already mentioned, the ID WNV NAT testing for donations of blood and blood components has now been introduced in the provinces of Biella (Piedmont), Venice (Veneto) and Pordenone (Friuli Venezia Giulia) due to the detection of WNV positive mosquito pools or WNV positive birds.
