The Federal Office for Public Health was informed by the Italian authority that a confirmed human infection with WNV has been recorded in the province of Vicenza (Veneto). Nationwide in Italy, donors who have stayed at least one night in the stated region are excluded from donation for 28 days. We therefore ask you to pay attention to this in the anamnesis discussions and donor selection.
This letter is in accordance with the current state of information of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
