The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that a human WNV infection has been reported for the first time in the Spree-Neiße region in Germany during the current season.
It is therefore requested that the relevant information be taken into account in anamnesis interviews and donor selections.
This letter corresponds to the current information status of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
