Warning about incense mixtures
The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG)/AGES PharmMed warn purchasers and consumers against consuming or smoking herbal mixtures such as "Spice" and its successor products, as unforeseeable health risks/harm could be associated with them.
After consumption of "Spice" or similar incense blends, palpitations, reddened conjunctivae, dry mouth, altered mood and cognition, and a subjectively strong feeling of impairment have been reported. Adverse side effects ranged to cardiovascular problems and acute anxiety.
The following incense blends may be associated with the adverse effects experienced due to similar ingredients:
- Dream
- Genius
- Sence
- Smoke plus
- Spice Arctic Synergy
- Spice Diamond
- Spice Gold
- Spice Silver
- Spice Tropical Synergy
- Forest Humus
- King B Forever
- Scope the Flower Power
- Sencation
- Sencation Blackberry
- Salvia 10x Extract
- Krypton
By the ordinance of the Federal Minister of Health concerning the marketing, import and transfer of incense mixtures containing cannabinomimetic substances (BGBl. II No. 6/2009 of 03.03.2009 as well as by the Medicinal Products Act as amended), the marketing, import and transfer of these incense mixtures to Austria are prohibited.
