Update: West Nile Virus (WNV) - Hungary

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that in Hungary, in the current season, 12 human WNV infections have already been recorded. New affected regions are: Gyor-Moson-Sopron and Somogy. It is therefore requested that appropriate attention be paid to this in anamnesis discussions and donor selections.
This letter corresponds to the current information status of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
