The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by the Danish authority that it has been informed by the Danish tissue bank European Sperm Bank (DK257572) that the sperm donor 8558/Edward has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (DM2).
The donor/the donor gametes have been permanently blocked.
If you have any queries, please contact the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care at gewebevigilanz@basg.gv.at or contact the tissue bank from which the sperm donation was obtained directly.
This letter corresponds to the current status of information from the BASG. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
