On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, Dr. Vlasta Zavadova, the new Director of the Liechtenstein Medicines Agency, paid a working visit to the Office of Public Health of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Austrian sister agency AGES Medizinmarktaufsicht (MEA).
The technical focus of the visit was, among other things, the adaptation of the existing State Treaty between Austria and Liechtenstein in the context of drug regulation. It is necessary to continuously develop this further and to adapt it to the current EU laws, in particular with regard to the new regulations concerning clinical trials and also veterinary medicinal products.
It was also discussed which areas of responsibility Austria will assume for Liechtenstein in the future. Further discussions to leverage additional and optimized synergies are already planned.
