The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care was informed by ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that in Serbia, in the current season, a total of 53 human WNV infections were recorded. Three deaths were reported in connection with WNV infections. Affected regions are: Juzno-backi, Srednje-banatski, Juzno-banatski, Grad Beograd, Sremski, Severnobacki, Branicevski, Sumadijski and Moravicki.
It is therefore requested that the relevant information be taken into account in the medical history interviews and donor selections.
This letter corresponds to the current state of information of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
