European Sperm Bank - Donor-8989 JOAO
The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by the Danish authority that it has been informed by the Danish tissue bank European Sperm Bank (DK257572) that an offspring of donor-8989 JOAO was diagnosed with phenylketonuria (PKU) during routine newborn screening. The diagnosis was confirmed genetically. There is no history of PKU in the donor, his family, or other offspring.
Because the donor is a carrier of phenylketonuria, this donor's gametes have been permanently blocked.
