The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by the Danish authority that it has been informed by the Danish tissue bank European Sperm Bank (DK257572) that one offspring of donor 8212 WITTE has been diagnosed with autosomal recessive hearing loss 77 (DFNB77).
The donor will be permanently blocked.
If you have any questions, please contact the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care at gewebevigilanz@basg.gv.at or contact the tissue bank from which the sperm donation was obtained directly.
This letter corresponds to the current information status of the BASG. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
